I often observe that when you decide to work with a company you are really buying the person you deal with, rather than 'the company'. You trust that the person you deal with reflects the character of the company, and of course sometimes there is a change in personnel and you find out the hard way that you were dealing with a great account manager but not such a great company. I have also seen that the character of the person at the top and the way they treat the people under them usually rolls throughout the company and sets the tone and ethos of the whole company.
In the light of this I thought it might be useful then to tell you why you should buy into me, since I am the voice and character of this company.
So, what do I bring to the table? Well, I have been around a bit and done a lot of stuff. I worked for the Lighthouse Service, I was a professional musician/songwriter for seven years, I worked in a record shop, I ran a 300 seat call centre, I was the Customer Relations Manager for South East of England for a VERY big company, I ran a national project re-structuring that same business and changing it's IT infrastructure, I have won a national award for creating a customer-focussed sofware package... I have seen and done quite a lot.
Then I took six months out to think about what I'd learned and what I loved - creativity, business, people, trying to create a great working environment - and in 1998 I formed my own business to try to do things how I thought they should be done and encompassing all the things I love to do. A decade later as I write this I have been pretty succesful, but deliberately not too succesful as I never wanted to grow a monster - just to bring together really gifted people to serve other people really well without sacrificing our enthusiasm along the way.
I am challenge-driven. Not money, not ego, not power, but the challenge to do something that exceeds what it might otherwise have been.
